My Princess Meets 'The' Princesses

We still haven't reached Charleigh's actual birthday yet, but we've celebrated AGAIN! And I'll warn you now ~ this is going to be LONG!

This time we took a family trip to Disney World so she could meet the Princesses ~ and meet the Princesses she did!

We arrived at the Park right at opening time (9:00 a.m.), took the ferry across to the 'Kingdom' and let the fun begin! Right away we ran in to these fellas...

Then we had to do the traditional photo-op with this background...

Before heading to a Tea Party for two!

Daddy and Cagen sat this one out. Daddy doesn't like the spinning!

When we finished that, we ran in to this pretty lady...

The White Rabbit was there as well, but Charleigh wasn't too sure about him so he graciously stepped away. (Thanks Mr. Rabbit, I appreciate that more than you know!)

Afer that, it was off to Storytime with Belle.

Before heading to Toon Town to meet Mickey & Minnie and visit their houses!

After some face time with the Mouse himself, came the highlight of the day ~ 3 princesses at once!!

Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) was super sweet, and I think she liked Cagen a little...

His daddy was SO proud!

After that we ran in to Snow White (no dwarfs though, they must have been at work)

and Cagen got another kiss!

We took in a few more rides and shows

before meeting two more princesses...

By then it was time to find a spot for the parade

and the fireworks!

Finally (at a little after 10:00 p.m.) it was time to get back on the ferry and head home.

All in all, I would say it was a Good Day at the Happiest Place on Earth!

Crazy & Cool

I have one crazy child...

and one cool child...

And I love them both!!

A Weekend Full of Celebration

This past weekend was full of celebration around our house. Even though her birthday isn't until April 1, we went ahead and had Charleigh's birthday party and a cookout celebrating Cagen's baptism on Saturday, followed by the actual baptism on Sunday.

Our family (and friends who might as well be family) joined us, and we had such a wonderful time.

I can't believe she's turning 3!

Charleigh's "Aunt" A. made the cake and it was FANTASTIC!

She was so good about telling everyone 'thank you' after each gift! I was so proud!

During the actual baptism we were joined by Cagen's two amazing sets of God Parents.

We were blessed to have so much of our family with us for the birthday and baptism!

This is us with our pastor.

See that Christening gown that Cagen has on? My grandmother made that by hand for my dad. My dad was Christened in it, as was I, and now both of my kids. It will go back in its box for safe keeping so that my grandkids can wear it one day (I hope.)!

One thing this weekend just reiterated for our family is how blessed we are. We are surrounded by wonderful family and friends, and our children know they are loved not only by hubby and I, but by all of them as well.

So, to those family and friends...'Thank you' to each of you for being such a special part of our lives!

No Tummy Time for Me!

BuddyRoe has NEVER liked tummy time. Every time we try to put him on his stomach he screams bloody murder and buries his face in the floor/bed/blanket. He doesn't even like to lay on his stomach on top of our stomachs.

When we mentioned it to his pediatrician a couple months back he said not to worry about it, that his neck muscles would strengthen just fine without it. So, we haven't put him on his tummy since then.

We've resigned ourselves to the fact that he may never crawl. Afterall, how do you crawl if you're never on your tummy? But that's ok...we're fine with going straight to walking!

Well, the past couple of days he's been trying really hard to roll over (back to tummy). He gets about 80% there and then falls back to a flat position.

So this morning I decided to help him the rest of the way on to his tummy. I grabbed his arm and tugged him the last little bit over so that he was flat on his tummy, arms out to his sides.

Imagine my surprise when he IMMEDIATELY rolled back over on to his back and started laughing! It's like he was saying "HaHa! No Tummy Time for Me!"

Praise Him!

Kelly over at Kelly's Korner (also known as Harper's mommy) had a post today about giving Him some Praise.

And she is so right. Often times we get so consumed and overwhelmed with going to Him in prayer for things that are difficult or troubling that we forget to go to Him in Thanksgiving and Praise.

So, here are just a few of the many things that I want to praise Him for today...

Praise: I have a wonderful husband who loves me and our children to no end.

Praise: I have two BEAUTIFUL and generally healthy children who I just can't get enough of.

Praise: Cagen's reflux medicine seems to be doing the trick and he was able to eat and sleep much better last night and this morning!

Praise: Most of our family will be together this weekend to celebrate Charleigh's 3rd birthday and Cagen's baptism.

Praise: Not only will we surrounded by family this weekend, but by friends who are so special to us that they might as well be family!

Praise: I was able to walk out my front door this morning and see the beautiful flowers we planted a few weekends ago. Even though there have been moments that they've seemed wilted beyond repair, with a little love and care they've come back to be bright and beautiful!

Praise: Hubby and I both have jobs in a time when many people don't.

Praise: I was able to sit and watch my daughter dance like she was on the ballroom floor last night while DWTS was on the television. And then I had the honor of dancing with her!

Happy Birthday...A Day Late

OK, I know I'm a day late but yesterday just got away from me.

This one...

turned 5 yesterday ~ 5 Months that is!

You've come a long way baby. And we couldn't love you more!

Yesterday was also a big day for him because he tried his first "big person food" as his daddy calls it. Applesauce!

I can't speak for him, but for some reason I don't think he liked it too much at first!

What do you think?

Prayer Request

I don't have many details, but my cousin Boo's son G. is in the hospital.

(This is G. holding Cagen when we were at Grandma's house last month.)

From what I understand the doctors thought he had an appendicitis, but after running tests (or whatever they do to determine that) they found out that's not it.

They were checking him for some other issues involving his liver and we're waiting to hear back on those results.

If you will please pray for him, my cousin & her husband, their other boys (who I'm sure are scared by brother being in the hospital), the rest of the family and the doctors treating him.

Update: The doctors still aren't sure what's wrong with G. He still has a fever along with an elevated white blood count, but they went ahead and sent him home from the hospital. Please continue to pray for him & his parents.

Update to the Update: G. is doing much better! The fever is gone and he is now enjoying his Spring Break. The doctors still have no idea what was wrong, but we are so thankful that he's doing better! Thank you for the prayers.

I Have Failed

I had one job and I have failed. I'm not sure my child will ever look at me the same again. She's bound to be heartbroken, and I'm sure it will scar her for life.

What could I have failed so miserably at you ask?

She...

has a birthday coming up. And she is obsessed (or slightly beyond obsessed) with anything and everything Disney right now. Especially the princesses.

So her daddy and I are taking her to Disney World for her birthday. Actually, we're going a week before her birthday so she'll still get in free. It's that cheap...er thriftiness coming out in me again. But I digress.

It was my job to make sure we had reservations for lunch with this one...

It's still a couple weeks out so no problem! Right?

WRONG!! I called today and the so sweet lady who I could barely understand on the phone politely informed me that Cinderella is BOOKED THE ENTIRE DAY THAT WE'RE GOING!!!

I know you're all sitting there thinking to yourselves, "Really, why is this a big deal? Surely a 2, about to be 3 year old won't even remember that you discussed it in the first place."

Oh but my child has a memory like an elephant (how do we know that an elephant has a good memory...why not a memory like a frog or a memory like a cow?). I have no doubt that she will remember that we said we were going to have lunch with Cinderella, and I'll be left to explain that mommy just couldn't get the job done!

I have failed.

On a happier note, it's Friday! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

She's Keepin Us on Our Toes

One day last week when both of the kids were home sick I walked in to the nursery to find this...

And then one night this weekend I found her not only in his crib, but holding him in her lap. It's only a matter of time before she brings him to me!

I'm not sure my heart, or my toes can take it!

Not Perfect, But Still Proud

After being inspired by so many other bloggers I decided I would be crafty and creative at least once!

So, I went to Wal-Mart and got this...

And then I borrowed this from my mother-in-law...

and I made this...

I know it's nothing fancy. It's basically a pillowcase dress without the pillowcase (I just started with regular fabric), but it's also my very first attempt at sewing clothing and my first sewing attempt of any kind since middle school home economics!

I was especially happy to see Little Miss so willing to model it for me since she's been in bed for the past 3 days with fever and cough. And just because I think both my little people are too cute here's one of him too...

And by the way...the boy weighs 13 lbs. 6 oz. now!! Wowza ~ where did my teniney baby go?
